On October 15, 2020, the 11th Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation Forum & 2020 Beibu Gulf International Gateway Port Cooperation Summit was held in Nanning. Government officials, renowned experts and scholars, as well as entrepreneurs from China and ASEAN nations attended the forum online and offline.
On the forum, taking into consideration the new trends of international trade, the participants deliberated and exchanged their views on exploring higher-level cooperation on building the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (hereinafter referred to as the “New Corridor”) and safeguarding and promoting the opening-up, safety and stability of international supply chains in different areas and regions. They all believed that to work together on building the New Corridor and Beibu Gulf International Gateway Port is a significant step and practice for furthering China-ASEAN cooperation on the “Belt and Road” Initiative. All parties should stick to the core principles of win-win cooperation, extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, vigorously seek new approaches to land-sea cooperation, and strive for new progress in constructing the “Belt and Road” Initiative.
